Exploration
Delving More Deeply Into Living Systems
Thus far, the children have divided themselves nicely into five groups. For example, some Maples will be studying terrariums, while others dedicate themselves to explorations of the subway system, robots, animals, insects, and hermit crabs.
Children considered the further research they'd like to engage in throughout this past week. For example, children who have opted to study hermit crabs will be taking Bill home for weekends to observe his behavior after school hours and beyond school days. Children who have chosen to study insects are planning to take a trip to Fort Greene part to observe ants in their natural environment. Perhaps their research will provide us invaluable information to use should we decide to acquire another ant farm. There are so many other beautiful ideas bouncing between the children. We're excited to facilitate these experience.
Additionally, if you feel you would like to contribute to any of these groups, we would greatly appreciate it. Perhaps you've a passions for ants, or have always wanted to support children in an exploration of a snow leopard. Maybe you have friends or family who have access to a robot. Either way, please feel free to reach out to us at any time should you like to support.
