Send off to Summer
We have missed everyone so much and can't wait for next fall when we will have the "Best Year Ever"! I would like to say how impressed I am with Edmond Public Schools and how proud I am to work for EPS! Their response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been nothing short of inspiring in the face of adversity. Within two weeks of school shutdown, the EPS Curriculum Department had a Learning Dashboard that has been used, not only by Edmond students, but by students all over the nation and state! In all my years as a public school educator, never would I have envisioned an end of the year quite like this one. Instead of a Fifth Grade Farewell, we are saying goodbye to our fifth graders with a "Honk Out." It's been surreal to work as a virtual principal these past few weeks. I would also like to give a shout-out to our special and amazing WI teachers going above and beyond to ensure our students were emotionally supported as well as academically during the school shutdown! Many of you have asked about next year's plans and the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. As of right now, the District is working on multiple scenarios including what it would take to start in school buildings as opposed to what would need to happen to enhance Distance Learning if it came to that scenario again. Because of the nature of this virus, there are no concrete plans to put out there, as of yet, for the start of the school year. The Learning Dashboard will be available all summer for student use so please take advantage of all that is has to offer! Have a wonderful summer with your family! Stay safe and stay well. #whereverwheneverwolves
Wishing you well,
Mrs. Frank

May 18th and 20th PROCEDURES
Student Materials PICK UP DAYS & school items to be dropped off
Dear Families,
We know that some students left some items in their desks and cubbies before Spring Break while others didn't leave behind much at all! This is your only opportunity to pick up student items left at school. You are NOT required to come to student material pick-up if you would prefer to maintain social distance for everyone’s safety, and any unclaimed items will be recycled or disposed of, as appropriate.
We are offering two opportunities for families to come to Washington Irving to pick up and drop off items. Monday, May 18th and Wednesday, May 20th, we will have staff available to help coordinate the pick-up of items from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. No one will be allowed to enter the building as we will have staff members retrieve items for you.
Spring individual and class pictures have arrived and will be part of the student pickup but we have learned yearbooks will not be ready by that point so there will be another pick up scheduled for yearbooks at a later date.
It is important to note that any items not retrieved by the end of May 20th will be disposed of by school personnel.
The days you can pick up your child’s materials from school has been set for May 18th and May 20th. Pick up times will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. There will NOT be pick up during the 11:00-11:30 time frame.
The procedures are as follows:
4 pick-up locations: This is SUBJECT to CHANGE (alphabet may re-structured)
Last name A-G will pick up in the bus loop located on the north side of the building
Last name H-L will pick up in the north car loop
Last name M-R will pick up in the south car loop
Last name S-Z will enter into campus the same as the south car loop but will go forward into the parking lot on the south side of the building (where teachers usually park) and will exit out the south car loop entrance
There will be signs to direct you for each entrance.
Please have a sign in your front windshield listing your child’s name "last name, first name”. (This can be your car tag if you still have it) This sign needs to be written in marker and big enough so it is easily read from a short distance.
You MUST stay in your car.
Open your trunk (remotely) or someone will open it for you and place a closed bag in your car for you that contains all materials that belong to your child or children.
If you need to pick up medication from the school please let the teacher who is helping know and it will be brought out to you. You will need to show your ID and you will need to sign a form. Please bring your own pen.
If you have a library book or anything else that needs to be returned to the school please bring it with you and the teacher helping will take these items from you and put them in a receptacle as. Do NOT bring anything to the school that is not property that needs to be returned.
If you have children that do not have the same last names you will need to go through the appropriate loop for each child. Please pull through the loop then exit and then pull into the next loop according to your child’s last name.
If you have any questions please call the school and a secretary or administrator can help you.
continuous learning dashboard
Lessons will continue on the Digital Dashboard until May 13th, which is student last day of school. However, the dashboard will remain up all summer for learning opportunities if missed.
All immunizations must be current to start school in fall
Enrollment related items and May 1st Annual Update opens for all
Parent Portal is required to be updated annually. This is called Annual Update and is for currently enrolled EPS students so that parents can review and edit information held in the Infinite Campus system. This allows for any changes that need to be made to be taken care of.
Parents will need to complete an Annual Update for 2020-2021 by logging into the Parent Portal (not the Campus Parent app). Upon login, scroll down and select "MORE" in the lower left corner of your portal screen, then select "Online Registration", then select "Annual Update". You will verify your existing information and make any needed changes. The Annual Update must be completed for your student(s) to receive their 2020-2021 schedule or homeroom teacher/classroom placement.
You DO NOT have to upload any documents for the annual update. You will be asked to provide a utility bill in August just like always.
For questions or login issues related to the parent portal, please contact your school site or email parentportalhelp@edmondschools.net.
If your family will not be returning to Edmond Public Schools for the 2020-2021 school year, please let your current school(s) know or email parentportalhelp@edmondschools.net as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Edmond Public Schools
Parents/Guardians: If you are planning on moving or if you have recently moved, please check with our Boundaries Map to make sure you are aware of the schools associated with the new address.
Pre-enrollment forms for 2020-2021: Since we don't know when we will be back to the school and our Registrar needs to work on enrollment for next year, please complete this online form in lieu of the form that came home before Spring Break. https://forms.gle/tjfbXZ1C9fqb8atz7
Enrollment procedures: If you know of someone that is moving into our school boundary and needs to enroll for the remainder of this school year, please have them visit the Edmond Public Schools website at www.edmondschools.net for further instructions.
