Happy Veterens Day!!
November 11, 2021
From a veteran to all our veterans near and far - thank you for your service!
Thank you Mrs. Jamie Kellerman, PTO Volunteer Coordinator (Marines) and Mr. Kevin Johnson, Bannach Occupational Therapist (Army National Guard) for your service!
Hello Bannach Bulldogs -
I would like to take few minutes to share with you my 'story'. I grew up in a small, rural community an hour south of Stevens Point. My family valued education, however we didn't have the financial means to support me continuing my education after high school. I took the ASVAB my senior year, tested well, was selected to become part of the military intelligence community in the Army, and received the G.I. Bill to help fund my going to college.
I went through basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and then proceeded to San Francisco for language training at the Defense Language Institute - I was selected to learn Korean. After San Francisco, I headed to San Angelo, Texas for additional training in my actual job as a Electronic Warfare Signals Intelligence Analyst. Following that, I lived in Misawa, Japan for three years which is a strategic base only 300 kilometers from Vladivostok, Russia. While in Japan, I started to use my G.I. Bill and attend college.
When I got back to the U.S., I continued pursuing my education at the University Center in Baraboo. After a year, I transferred to UW Stevens Point and entered the School of Education. The rest is 'history', shall we say. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education and began teaching in Stevens Point in 1999. Five years into teaching, I went back to school through Cardinal Stritch University to become an administrator. Fast forward to today, and it has been my pleasure to serve as your principal for the past 13 years.
Service is in my blood, whether it's for you, your children, our community, or our country. I thank you all for your contributions and continued support. I feel we truly embody the phrase, "Together, we are better..." Sincerely ~ Mrs. Champion
One of our Bulldogs brought this pin to school and dropped it on the playground. If it is yours, please call the office so that we can return it.
