Spotlight on Students!
On Wednesday, May 4th VUMHS held our first Social Justice Festival! Students listened to keynote speakers and performances that celebrated our work toward building a more inclusive and equitable school.
The purpose of the Social Justice Festival is for voices to be heard and we will continue to do this annually. Although it was raining, this didn't stop VUMHS from celebrating and empowering each other. The speeches were moving and the songs were great. We had performances from Mr. Nary, Megan, Maddie, Bryan, and Kizzie. It was an impactful day for all. There were many activities like Volleyball, Capture the Pride Flag, sustainable energy by Shelburne Farms, Rokeby Museum, Womensafe and many more to help students learn.
We’d like to thank all those who supported and participated to make this event a success!
