What's Happening at Willard Next Week? | August 16, 2019

Welcome Back Willard Teachers

We welcomed back our amazing teachers and staff at Willard this week. With the theme of "Take a Walk on the WILD Side," we kicked off their return with our "Finish the Lyric" icebreaker. Excitedly, teachers showcased their dance moves and singing brilliance, to help us get ready for this amazing school year. They participated in two sessions centered on Intention and Influence, both of which aimed to ensure that we work to provide rich instruction to our unique and diverse Wildcat community. The John Champe Marching Knights drum line masterfully serenaded the staff, and Ford's Fish Shack provided an outstanding array of seafood fare. It was an amazing start to the school year, and we look forward to even more powerful moments!

Resetting Student Passwords

Loudoun County Public Schools reset all student passwords earlier this week to a default password in the following format: LCPS-MMDDYY where MMDDYY is your child's birth date. Students should log in to LCPSGO (go.lcps.org) and change their password to a strong password prior to the start of school on Thursday, August 22nd.

Instructions on changing their password are accessible here.

If your child is having any problems, they can try using a different browser, e.g. Google Chrome. If this still does not work, your child may come to Willard before the first day of school to have their password reset. Our main office phone number is 571-367-4040.

MSAAC Delegate Information

As we begin this school year, the Minority Student Achievement Advisory Committee (MSAAC), responsible for supporting Loudoun County Public Schools on its equity journey, is seeking a parent delegate and alternate. Knowing that many will be interested in this opportunity, we have asked that interested parents complete the Google Form. Once the delegate and alternate have been selected, they will receive detailed information about this exceptional opportunity.
