Getting Ready for State Assessments!
Hamady Middle/High School Professional Development
During the May 21st early release Professional Development, teachers will work with Dr. Piert from U of M and the IAM Institute to learn the structures of Mindfulness in order to implement in classrooms as a behavior support.
Google Classrooms Coming to Hamady Fall of 2016
Two teachers from the Social Studies and Science departments will be hard at work this summer in developing and designing a Google Classroom structure for the upcoming school year. Teachers will be working collaboratively with the GISD to create structures. A Google Classroom is a classroom set up where the content will be presented to students using grant funded Chrome Books through a technology based platform.
GEARup2READ Book Drive
WWH School District is a participating partner in the mission to help the children in Flint and Genesee County become heroic leaders by enhancing literacy skills during the month of March. All buildings will put fundraising activities in place to support the book drive efforts.
Looking Ahead!!!
The Westwood Heights School District will be preparing for the upcoming AdvancED external review during February of 2017. The review will provide the district with important information to increase student achievement in an effort to receive North Central Accreditation (NCA).
