Picking your child up early?

Don't forget to sign your child out in the office with Mrs. Kuske if you are picking your child up early for an appointment, or if they are sick in the nurse's office. We use this list at the end of the day to update our bus list.

Watch dog kick-off success

Thank you to all of the dads, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, etc that attended last week's Watch DOG Kick-Off event! If you were unable to make it to the meeting, please email our Assistant Principal, Missy Howard, to sign up for a day. Her email address is

All Watch DOGs must have an updated background check on file before volunteering on campus. Watch DOGs will return on campus in early October.

Running of the Vikings is Tonight

All PK-5th grade (LVES and LVIS) students are invited to participate in the Running of The Vikings before all home games. Students will need to line up on the north end of the field (by the Viking tunnel) at 7:00 pm to be ready to run when the players leave the field (approx. 7:10 pm).

UIL Kick-Off Event

It's almost that time of year to form UIL teams for the 2020 UIL District Meet on January 24, 2020 here at LVES. UIL events are open to any 2nd - 5th grader. To kick things off we will have an information event on September 26th during 2nd and 3rd grade lunches. Our awesome UIL Coordinator, Cathy Evans, will be there to talk about the different events and introduce coaches. 2nd and 3rd graders who are interested in trying out for one of the UIL events will be able to sign up after the this event. The letter below will be going home in today's Friday folder.

Lago Vista ISD is committed to effective, two-way communication regarding student safety. In the event of a validated threat to student safety or other emergency, our District and campuses work together to quickly notify parents/guardians through our District messaging service.

In order to ensure that you receive these crucial notifications, please log into txConnect Parent Portal to verify/update the contact information for your student. We ask our parents to do this each year for each student. The information provided in txConnect is what we use to contact you, so it is very important that all information provided is correct and up-to-date. ESL Parent Meeting

Our first ESL Parent Meeting of the year is happening on October 2nd from 8:00-10:00 am in the cafeteria. This is an opportunity for families who have children in the ESL program to hear from Ms. Evans, our amazing ESL Coordinator. Ms. Evans will talk about the the ESL program in Lago Vista ISD, and work with parents to make plans for the upcoming school year!

GT Fall Referral

G/T Fall Referrals for Students in Grades 1-12 are October 15th!

Parents of students in grades 1-12 who consent to having their child screened for the

Lago Vista ISD Gifted and Talented Education Program should complete a referral form and return it the student's school by October 15th.

Note: Parent consent is obtained each spring for all kindergarten students during enrollment, so referrals for G/T screening are not accepted for students in kindergarten.

Hello LVES Families! I have enjoyed learning about the different responsibilities our students have this month as we have been talking about the character trait of Responsibility. It is important for children to understand that showing responsibility at home, school, and with friends also shows that they are trustworthy and dependable. What kinds of opportunities have you given your child to help them learn about and show responsibility?

Have you heard about the Old Farm Community Center Food Pantry? This local resource is stocked with lots of wonderful free food for anyone in the community. Some items include fresh fruits, vegetables, frozen meats, beverages, baked goods, and even dog food.

They are located at 3500 Lohman Ford Road in Lago Vista, and are open on Saturdays at 9:00am-1:00pm, or until they run out of food. For more information, their website is:

Want to Volunteer?

We love volunteers at LVES! If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at LVES (field trips, Room Parent, Watch DOG, Friday Folder Parent, PTO, etc), you must fill out a background check form. Background checks are done yearly, so even returning volunteers must complete a new form at the beginning of the year prior to volunteering on campus.

Completed forms can be dropped at the LVISD Administration building located at 8039 Bar-K Ranch Road. Please allow at least 2 weeks for background checks to process.

LVES Office Hours

Our front office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30-4:00 pm. If you call before or after that time, you will need to leave a message and someone from the office staff will return your call the next day.
