A Message from Principal Bame
Dear Penguin Families,
We truly enjoyed seeing so many families at our 8th annual Trunk or Treat event! We were very excited to award the following trunks for their amazing decorations:
Best Trunks-
3rd place - Nico Tovar from Mrs. Hastings class. Nico and his family had the NC State "Go Pack" trunk.
2nd place - Nick Dawson ALSO from Mrs. Hastings class. Nick and his family had the Scooby Doo trunk.
1st place - Fekete and Alesio/Moss Families. Evan Fekete from Ms. Pettit class, Olive Fekete from Mrs. Weiss class and Kai Alesio from Ms. Haight’s class. These two families joined together to bring us the awesome Clue trunk!
Our classes did an excellent job of decorating pumpkins for our contest!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Gannon`s class with their winning pumpkin, the spider!! Your class is the winner of the in-school field trip from Science is Fun!!
This week we will vote on our 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year! Please help me in congratulating our deserving nominees:

PTA Reflections Contest Update
- Parents and students can submit Reflections artwork to the front office, from now until the competition deadline, next Tuesday, October 31.
- Ms. Campbell, PTA Reflections Chairperson, will stop in once each day from now until next Tuesday to pick up art as it comes in. After that, she will communicate back with each participant directly.

Let's Get Cookin'
Calling all chefs! The Health and Wellness Committee would like to create a LPES Cookbook. Your assistance and participation is needed to help make this a success.
How you can participate-
We want to include recipes from our students, teachers, and staff! If you would like to participate, you can submit recipes by sending an email to LaurelParkCookbook@gmail.com or inside a marked envelope addressed to the “Health and Wellness Committee- Cookbook".
