Associate Highlight: Tammie Best - (Jackson Revenue)
1. Thank you for sharing your before and after photos. You have had an amazing turnaround! At what point did you decide that you were going to make that real change?
"Long story short… There were 3 major catalyst for my change.
· My health, my children and self-perception. My health started to deteriorate. And I saw the fear in my children’s eyes. They didn’t want to come into my bedroom because they were afraid they’d find me lying there dead. That was in 2011 after having my gall bladder removed. During that time the surgeons had revealed that my bile duct had torn and toxins had been leaking into my system. Scary right?
· My self-perception: I looked in the mirror and I didn’t love or even like the person who stared back at me. I had become morbidly obese and couldn’t figure out how I had gotten that way or why I had gotten comfortable enough to let myself get to 320 pounds.
· My children: I want to live a long healthy life so that I will be around to see my children live. And it’s a good thing that I made the change, because I will be a “NuNu” (grandmother) soon!"
2. What kind of program or routine did you find worked best for you?
"I started off slowly with an in home walking routine. From there I found and followed every type of dance workout that I could get my hands on. Eventually I worked up to harder workouts like, “Insanity, T25, Bootcamps”… What was most important to me was that the workouts were fun, cost effective and were things that I could do in a short amount of allocated time. But to answer the question, dance routines like Tiffany Rothe workouts worked best for me. And I still use them."
3. Have you found people at work that help support your new lifestyle habits? How important is it to be with a company that fosters healthy living?
"My coworkers are very supportive. In fact they look to me for guidance on how to live a healthier lifestyle. Jackson is so unique in the way that we offer so many opportunities for healthy living. It’s absolutely amazing! Jackson has set the standard for me; therefore, I won’t accept less from this point on. It’s no wonder we won “Best Company” to work for 3 years in a row."
