Why I am interested in this field of engineering
Daily Life
Many biomedical engineers work in research labs researching projects and working with others. They also spend a lot of their time getting grants and writing papers for the outcomes of their experiments.
Salary
As of 2015 the average salary of a Biomedical engineer in Texas is 79,000
Education Needed
A four year college degree is needed for biomedical engineering work. To become licensed one must have a degree from a program that is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), four years of relevant work experience, and successful completion of a state examination. Many biomedical engineers have degrees in chemical or electrical engineering, but also take many of "pre-med" classes. Many get graduate degrees, and some continue on to medical school and get M.D's.
