SWAG Week (Staff With Amazing Grace) Staff Appreciation Week of May 4-7
STUDENTS: Please Bring Fan Mail (Letters, Cards, Happy Notes) for your teachers!
Help us treat the AMAZING Starside Staff like the STARS they are!
Fan Mail will be collected in the Fan Mail Box in the front atrium and delivered to teachers on Thursday.
Sharpen-the-Saw Family Night is returning to Starside!
When: Thursday, May 13 from 5:30-7:00 PM
Where: Outdoors and on the Starside Campus
What: All Starside Students are invited to participate! Students will have a 2-guest limit. Families will work together to sharpen their minds, bodies, and souls by completing an activity passport. A photo booth will be available to take family pictures for FREE! Chris Cakes will be here for dinner! Adults may purchase an all-you-can-eat dinner for themselves, but STARSIDE STUDENTS eat FREE!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- We will have a 2-guest, per student limit.
- Families must check in outside when arriving.
- Social distancing, mask-wearing, and hand-sanitizing protocols are still in place outdoors to help prevent the spread of disease.
- Since the event is outside it is also weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, Family Night and all related activities, including Chris Cakes will be canceled.

Nominate a Deserving Starside Staff Member for April!
USD 232 and the USD 232 Education Foundation present the Making a Difference Award!
Nominations are due April 30, 2021! The recipients will be recognized in May.
This award is designed to honor and recognize those staff members who go above and beyond, exceeding expectations, to make a difference for the students, families, and other employees in our district.
Award Criteria
• Anyone (staff, parents, students, etc.) can nominate any USD 232 employee
• Each recipient of this award will be presented a check for $250 along with a special trophy designed and manufactured by our high school students

Walk-a-Thon (WAT) Success!
Spring Walk-A-Thon
Our Spring 2021 Walk-A-Thon was a total success! A great time was had by all, we beat the rain, and we collected $340 in family donations as well as $16,850 in corporate donations for this school year and next! We appreciate all of our donors!

USD 232 Lost/Damaged Technology Policy
The following cost structure will apply when iPads are sent home with elementary students. If damage or loss occurs due to intentional acts or as the result of negligence in handling the device:
-1st Incident: No Fee;
-2nd Incident: $25.00;
-3rd Incident: $50.00 and
-4th and Subsequent Incidents: Actual cost of repair/replacement
The repair cost structure will reset annually for elementary students. In the event a device is stolen, a police report must be filed with local law enforcement and a copy of the report submitted to the school administration to prevent being charged the replacement cost of the device.
Accessories and parts that do not carry a warranty are charged at actual replacement cost.
Replacement cost for lost crayon (digital pencil for iPad):
-1st Incident: $25.00
-2nd and Subsequent Incidents: $50.00 (full replacement cost)
Replacement cost for lost/damaged charger:
-1st Incident: $11:00
-2nd and Subsequent Incidents: $22.00 (full replacement cost)
