During this week of Staff Appreciation, I want you all to know what a privilege it is to work side by side with each of you. We have had successes and we have had challenges, but through it all there is no place I would rather be than with the Carter Lake team. Below are just a few of your OWN words that give you a glimpse into why you are so appreciated.

I APPRECIATE You because you . . .

Reach Out to Each Other This Week

I just finished reading a book for my book club entitled, "The Boys in the Boat." It was the story of the 1936 Olympic rowing team. What struck me was how they became "one" which then led to their Gold Medal success. Their coach said, "Every man in the boat had absolute confidence in every one of his mates. Why they won cannot be attributed to individuals, not even to a stroke. Heartfelt cooperation was responsible for the victory." He went on to say, "The things that held his team together were trust in each other, mutual respect, humility, fair play, and watching out for one another." This week let's all take a DEEP BREATH and show one another the appreciation that you each deserve. We can be a great team and have much success if we follow the lead of that 1936 Olympic team!
