Camels are traveler's choice for the Sahara because they can withstand the conditions of the desert that nothing else can.
Life in the Sahara
Life is very limited. Only plants that are adapted to the extremely hot and dry climate can grow. Mainly scorpions and few other adapted species live there.
Oasis
An oasis is an area in a desert where the water came to the surface. It is very inviting to travelers and can sustain little life because it has water.
Dangers in the Sahara
The Sahara desert is a very dangerous place. Sandstorms can last for days, and travelers can get lost in them. Also, the species that live there can be very harmful. Temperatures and the lack of water are dangerous factors as well.
