DuJardin classrooms are filling up as we bring more students back to in-person learning. Space is limited to twelve (12) students per classroom per day. Families wanting their children to return to in-person learning in classrooms where capacity has been reached will be placed on a waiting list. If spots open up or if our maximum capacity of twelve students per classroom is increased these students will be added to in-person learning. Please reach out to Mr. Dwyer via email, mdwyer@sd13.org, or 630-894-9200, with questions regarding in-person attendance.
Student grouping and placement for the 2021-2022 school year takes place in late May. In preparation for this important task a Student Placement Information form is available on this link. This request form is due back to Mr. Dwyer by Friday, April 9th. Although a request form is not required, parent input about a childās academic experiences can provide valuable insight to this process. Please remember that considerations for placing students in classes include but are not limited to class size, gender ratio, academic levels, student learning styles, specific student needs, diversity, and student peer relations. It is not recommended that a parent request a specific teacher due to the fact that requests are difficult to satisfy and teaching assignments can change from school year to school year. If you have questions about this form, please phone Mr. Mark Dwyer at 630-894-9200.
The Illinois Readiness Assessment (IAR) testing is fast approaching for grades 3-5 in both reading and math and will be scheduled during the month of April. Staff is working on a schedule with testing times and dates TBD. Once this schedule is determined it will be shared with parents. More information about the exams can be found at https://www.isbe.net/Pages/IAR.aspx.

OLSAT Testing
During the week of March 8-12 teachers will be administering the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) to in-person 1st-4th grade students. The test assesses reasoning and problem solving, using verbal (word), quantitative (number), and nonverbal (picture-figure-spatial relationship) symbols. The test is approximately 60-70 minutes in length, depending on the grade level. Test results will be shared with families. This test is administered to our students for the purpose of identifying the range of abilities in our district. It allows us to gather information on how well our programs match our studentsā learning strengths and needs. This information is valuable for our district-wide school improvement efforts. It helps us determine the best use of our district resources. The OLSAT scores are just one source of data we use to help us plan for student and curriculum needs. In addition we use teacher recommendations, classroom performance, Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) scores, and other classroom assessment results when making programming decisions.
