We got this!
This week
Good afternoon! I apologize for not sending this sooner, but it has been a little busy for me the last few days! STAAR testing will take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week, therefore there will be no rotation those three days. The recess schedule will be as follows:
12:30-kinder
1:00-1st
1:30-2nd
2:00-5th
3rd and 4th will not have recess on testing days, 5th will not have recess on Wednesday. 2nd grade and 4th grade will switch lunches Monday and Tuesday.
DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE DOWN ITEMS IN THE HALLWAY BY END OF DAY TODAY!!!!!
***Also, there will be no announcements next week, so please set your alarms for attendance.
1. If students are using designated supports (oral admin, calculators, etc.), you must mark that on the answer doc under ACCOMM.
2. On the back of the seating chart, you must keep track of students' start time, breaks, and end times.
3. If a student takes longer than 2 hours to test, this must be documented on the answer doc. You will mark a "0" in AGENCY USE; A is math day, B is reading day.
4. Do not forget to mark the "S" for SCORE once students have turned their answer doc in to you. You will bubble for math when it is turned in, and for reading the next day when it is turned in. This pertains to paper tests ONLY.
5. When announcing time left to test, you should verbally state time left to test, but it should also be written on the board, as well as your class start time. We CANNOT use a timeline or fraction bar to show time left, as this could aid students in answering questions. It should simply say Start Time-8:15, 4 hours left (then you would change the hour as needed).
6. If you have students in other areas than their classroom, you will keep those students until their classroom teachers are finished testing unless myself or Ryan tells you otherwise...it could always change depending on the day. Students are still only allowed to read quietly in these rooms, as we do not want students to rush through.
7. Remember, do not have students bubble in any of the personal information, as it is already done for them. The only thing they should bubble is what you read in the instructions: such as TEST TAKEN INFO English or Spanish, and form # for both math and reading.
One more thing...sorry! If you have a student who receives Individualized Structured Reminders, it is your responsibility to provide those for your students. These are the things YOU do in class to remind them to stay on task. Questions, please ask!
With STAAR testing going on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday you may wear jeans on those days.
I relied on grit...
