Teaching Strategies In a Digital Environment I Course Description:
Technology today allows students tremendous access to information and is being leaned upon heavily in the midst of a pandemic. By joining students on this technological playing field, educators can meet student learning needs in new and revolutionary ways. You have literally entered “the wave of future education and our current reality.” Even though you may be bringing years of teaching skills and experiences with you, you may be at the beginning of your experience in the virtual school environment. This course presents an overview of online education, including the necessary skills and best educational practices that will allow you to become both comfortable and proficient in this exciting environment.

Teaching Strategies In a Digital Environment II Course Description:
Teaching Strategies in a Digital Environment II targets both those who have completed Teaching Strategies in a Digital Environment I and/or teachers with experience in online and blended teaching. Thus, participants are encourages to engage in rich dialogue surrounding best practices and challenges faced in a digital environment. You will be presented with best and developing practices in academic integrity, student motivation, collaboration and online tools. Focus will be on hands on application within an online or blended course.

Zero Week: January 20-26, 2021 (Zero week is designed for you to test your login, the readiness of your computer you will be using, become familiar with the digital environment and is the time that drops can be made without financial costs and we begin to build our community of online learners.)
Week 1: January 27-February 2, 2021
Week 2: February 3-9, 2021
Week 3: February 10-16, 2021
Week 4: February 17-22, 2021
Week 5: February 24-March 2, 2021
Week 6: March 3-10, 2021
Length:
Zero week plus 6 Weeks - 1 hour synchronous online webinar required weekly and you can choose to attend either Mondays at 5:15 p.m. or Tuesdays at 7:15 p.m.
Cost:
$25 (This professional learning opportunity is being subsidized by the WDLC).
Drops must be made during zero week to be eligible for a refund. The Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative (WDLC) is subsidizing the cost of your participation in this professional learning experience. Participants who do not successfully complete the course, or drop during the zero week, may be billed $200.
