Assistant Principal's Message
Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Students who would like to bring valentines are encouraged to do so, but please make sure they do not include candy.
Roads get busy around pickup and drop off every day. Recently a few Zone M parking spots have gone in along 26th Ave and along one side of Pettygrove. Look for the small green signs to avoid getting a ticket!
Rules are in place to ensure safety, including the following: do not park in the bus zone on the school-side of Raleigh street, stay at the wheel if you are in the five-minute drop zone along Pettygrove, always let your child out on the sidewalk side of the street. If on foot, use the crosswalk at 26th Ave and Pettygrove, and allow the fifth grade crossing guards to help you cross you when they are available.
At the Ramona, please do not park in the bus zone. This zone stretches nearly the entire length of the building between Raleigh and Quimby. It is not safe to stop in the bus zone, even if you are at the wheel.
Thank you for helping to ensure safety on both campuses.
Sincerely,
Britt Kuether
Assistant Principal
WHAT IS SAFE OREGON?
SafeOregon is a program created for Oregon students, parents, school staff, community members and law enforcement officers to report and respond to student safety threats.
A COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
The goal of SafeOregon is to prevent school safety threats from occurring by providing schools and communities with a relevant tool for reporting potential threats. Tips can be submitted in a variety of ways, including email, phone calls, text, our mobile app and our web portal.
All tips go immediately to a tip line technician 24×7. Tips are promptly analyzed and forwarded to designated personnel who can provide further assistance in resolving reported incidents.
ONE TIP CAN SAVE A LIFE
Encouraging reporting at schools or online leads to a culture of safety. When a potential safety threat is reported, we have the chance to prevent violence. Working as a community to keep school safe is the highest priority at SafeOregon.
