Yearbook Pictures
Dear Families,
As in years past, we will be accepting pictures from families to consider for the yearbook. Please email any pictures of your student from during the school day; silent reading, work space set, outdoor P.E., etc. directly to dgonka@barrington220.org. We're excited to create this book for our families that marks a historic time in our lives, and we know you will be excited to order this memento for your student to look back on in the future. Ordering information to come out later in the year.

Library Reminders
- Library book check out has begun for grades 3-5. During library class, students have learned how to put books on hold through Destiny, our library catalog. As soon as Ms. Meiser is able, she will check out the books to your child and put them on a purple cart. It will be located near the yellow cart so you can easily return the books your child has read, and pick up the new ones.
- Books should be returned on the yellow cart marked "Return Library Books Here." During materials pick up, the cart will be outside. Otherwise, it will be in the entryway. The entryway is open when the school is open, generally 7:45 am-4:00 pm. You may want to avoid arriving right around 8:00 am as busses are arriving at that time. You do not have to fill out the COVID-19 information sheet just to come in the foyer.
- When library books are returned, they are put into quarantine before they are checked in. You may notice that books are still on your child's account even though they were brought back to school. As soon as the quarantine time is over, they will be checked in.
Specials Showcase
Encourage your child to attend the Specials Showcase from 8:00-8:20ish each morning. We've ridden a virtual roller coaster, watched Mr. Gonka create enameled jewelry, guessed answers to riddles, and saw our new PTO-purchased basketball hoops. Nurse DiVito showed students changes in the nurse's office, what to expect when entering the building for testing, and students viewed the testing area. Watch for the schedule on Fridays. We've got lots of fun and engaging activities planned! You can find the link in the Message Center on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
B•Strong Together Virtual Run/Walk 2020
The Covid-19 pandemic may have changed our lives, but we can still find great ways to come together to support our community. The B•Strong Together 4th Annual Joe Kelsch Memorial Run/Walk is going VIRTUAL! While we'll miss being together in person, a virtual event means that you can participate anytime, anywhere to support B•Strong Together and make a difference in the lives of children, youth, and families throughout the Barrington area. It's simple--run, walk, or even bike the 5K or 1-mile race anytime between August 30th and September 13th and submit your time. A finisher medal will be mailed directly to you at the end of the race.
Register online at www.raceroster.com/30442 and enter the following promo code for students (17 & under) at the check out: "D220CLUB220". There are also contests for $25 Amazon gift cards for adding a song title to the BST playlist, creative finish line photo, race route photo, and post-race photo--submit photos and songs to info@bstrongtogether.org.
