A glimpse into what is happening in the classroom!

A New School Year

What a great start to the school year! Classes began with a teambuilding activity and a project for us to get to know each other a little better! Everyone was eager to began a new year filled with challenges and adventures in creative problem solving and critical thinking.

We Are Learning...

6th Grade: Students have explored pentomino puzzles and strategies to solve difficult problems. They have taken a visit to Mesopotamia to explore how geography impacted a civilization and learned how Neolithic farmers were able to increase their standard of living. Our next stop is Egypt!

7th grade: Zombies have invaded the United States! Students have analyzed the situation using geography tools and based on their findings have made a suggestion on where to relocate. In the upcoming weeks we will explore economics and government. Students will begin a stock market simulation and begin to travel around the world!

8th grade: Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Students completed newspaper articles about one of the 13 original colonies. We will begin to explore the road to independence and the beginnings of our Nation. Conversations about our upcoming competition in the spring have begun. Please look for a letter to come home next week about our plans!
