April Newsletter
Fairview Elementary School
From the Principal
Spring break is next week! School resumes on Monday, April 5. As you know, we will also begin 5 days of in-seat learning for those students who have already been in seat. We are so excited to have our learners back in seat with us for all 5 days! This changes the ABCD calendar we were utilizing, so be sure to see below for the specials schedule for after break. Our first day back will be a C day.
We have a few other changes that will be happening in stages throughout spring, but we will continue to use mitigating factors such as everyone will continue to wear masks. One of our first changes will be to allow students to play without the restriction of zones at recess when we return from spring break.
Our in-seat 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will begin taking the MAP or Missouri Assessment Program Tests during our testing window of April 16-April 30. Please help support your child in doing their best on this test by getting them to school on time and ensuring they have a healthy breakfast. Students will be testing on their Ipads. We will be requiring all students to bring their Ipads the week prior along with their chargers and cords so that we can ensure Ipads are here and charged each day for the test. If you realize your child is missing a brick charger or cord, you can purchase one on your own, or call the school to purchase a replacement. See the section on Spring testing for specific dates for each grade level.
We are excited to have our learners back in seat all five days beginning in April ! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable spring break!!
