Weekly Message to CHISD Families
November 14, 2022
Cedar Hill ISD Families,
It is hard to believe we are just a few days away from Thanksgiving Break. Parents, I want to thank you for your partnership this semester. With your help our scholars are growing academically every day and exhibiting the Longhorn Essential behaviors we expect. As a way to show our appreciation,
this Thursday, Cedar Hill ISD will celebrate National Parental Involvement Day at each campus with the annual Pastries with Parents event. The Family and Community Engagement Office will provide pastries to distribute to parents at morning drop-off or during another designated time on that day.
ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
November 14-18 is Anti-Bullying Week, here in Cedar Hill ISD and across the nation.
This year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme is “Reach Out.” Bullying affects millions of lives and can leave us feeling hopeless, but it doesn’t have to be this way. If we challenge it, we can change it. And it starts by reaching out.
Whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, let’s reach out and show each other the support we need. Reach out to someone you trust if you need to talk. Reach out to someone you know is being bullied. Reach out and consider a new approach. And it doesn’t stop with young people. From teachers to parents and community members to politicians, we all have a responsibility to help each other reach out. #CHISDChooseKind
YOUTHTRUTH SURVEY
Thank you to those of you who have completed our annual YouthTruth Survey. Our survey window closes this Friday (November 18). YouthTruth is an interactive survey that is administered to 3rd through 12th grade scholars and parents of all grade levels. The feedback gives district administrators a honest look at the culture and climate within our schools. Please take a few minutes this week to complete this important survey.
Sincerely,
Dr. Gerald B. Hudson
Superintendent
