Transition Plus Oct 22
You don't go through life... you grow through life
A friendly reminder: If you have information that needs to go out to the whole staff, and it can wait until Monday, submit it to be included in the MMM. We are trying to cut down on all staff emails.
Moving News /Reminders
- The movers will be at TPlus Wednesday October 31st in the morning.
- If your office was moved in the new building, you will be getting the office furniture that was originally planned for that office
- Every classroom will have a locked cabinet with storage and a place to hang coats, instead of built in cabinets.
- All furniture should be installed this week in the building.
- MPS is scheduled to have full ownership of the building by Friday afternoon.
The expectation is that we will have all staff going to the trip with students. There will be work that needs to be done if you are not in a classroom and are not planning on going with the program.
- If you are going to the Riverview, you will be bussed back to Wilder after the students are picked up.
- If you are a bus aide you will go home with students on the bus and still put in for a full day.
- If you come back to Wilder, you can elect to move your personal things into the new building or leave early to complete paperwork at home.
- If you have not completed your mandatory online trainings, you can do so in the computer lab.
As soon as I have keys to the building I will let you know so we can have time for you to bring over your personal items.
If your classroom is not set up by the afternoon November 1 and you are taking a paper day offsite, you need to provide a list of what needs to be done in your room by 4:00 so we know how many ESP staff to help on Friday November 2.
If you are an ESP staff member willing to work on Friday, November 2 please give your name to Daphne so we can plan appropriately.
Any licensed staff who is interested in coming in on Saturday November 3, please let me know as I will find out if I can open the building for a couple of hours that day.

Wake Up Fitness 4 Life With Drums Alive! |
DonorsChoose.org project by Ms. Brantner
Help me give my students the necessary equipment recommended by the Drums Alive! curriculum to be successful. My students are learning about choosing Fitness 4 Life. They will be learning about engaging and fun recreational leisure choices through Drums Alive! program this year. The school is providing the curriculum and the teacher training, but our students need the materials in order to participate!
Sub Folders
I know many teachers provide their subs with a specialized lesson plan that may change, but these sub folders are helpful in case of an unexpected absence. Thanks!
Calling all basketball fans!
The Final Four Fan Jam Truck is visiting Transition Plus on Friday, Oct 26 from 1:30 - 3:30 thanks to Officer Phil!!! A waiver must be signed to participate. Students who are their own guardian can sign their own. Otherwise, waivers can be printed from the attachment or picked up from Colleen's office to be sent home for signing. It will "pop up" in the small parking lot outside of the cafeteria. If the weather is not favorable it will move into the cafeteria.
Resources for new families
Here is a link for teachers and families to access info in regards to questions for new immigrants and multi-lingual families. There may be teachers with students whose questions may be addressed by accessing this resource.

October 31st Half day
As we are planning out transportation for our October 31st Half-day, it would be so helpful to have an estimation of how many students will be attending, paying closer attention to students who are on an altered schedule, students in wheelchairs, and our more fragile students.
Please use this week to personally check in with your students/families about their plans for that day. Click on this link to enter your proposed student attendance (I know it won't be 100% accurate but we can get a good enough number to plan for transportation and medical/hygiene needs)
As a reminder, we will be out of the building the whole morning without access to the medical/hygiene equipment that we are used to. Obviously, we will make accommodations as necessary to keep our students safe, but please assume low access.
Professional Instructional Center (PIC)
Staff that have items to be delivered to PIC need to box up the items, label the boxes for PIC and bring them to the office - next to the wall by Traci's desk.
Please have these items ready to go by Friday, October 26th. Darryl has to do a work order for the boxes to be picked up. It would be ideal for him to do just one work order.
