Tips are an extra sum of money for gratitude of service. This is calculated by deciding a certain percent of your till to give. Then you place the money on the final total.

Taxes are money that you owe the government for school and items. They can also be on clothes and items like pop. Taxes also are added by a certain percent
Markups
Markups are when a certain percent of an item is added to the the origin price of an item.
Commission
Commission is when you multiply the percent of a price by the actual price to get your total
Discount
A discount is when you subtract a percent of a number giving you a sale. Then you remove the percent off of the total.
Taxes
I went and purchased a Double Chocolatey Chip Frappuccino from Starbucks. My total was $3.49, but when tax was added it was $3.73. The tax was 6.75% or24ยข extra.
Tips
I drove out to Swensons and Double Cheeseburger for 3.20, fries for 1.49, and a medium Florida for 1.69. My total was 6.38. I added a 20% tip for my server. I left a $1.28 tip. My total was $7.66.
Discounts
At Areopostale I bought stuff for $33.00. Then I subtract 60% off the total and got 13.20.
Commission
i worked at a car lot and sold a Ford mustang. The total price was $34,667. My pay for the car was 8% or $2,277.
Mark Ups
At Kohl's a gray cardigan was marked up 20% higher than the original total which was $15.99. The price was marked up to $23.00.
