Jeffrey/Mead Team Blog
September 1
Remote Days
Students should look for a daily morning message/video (M/T or Th/F) posted in Google Classroom.
Students should check assignments in Google Classroom, paying attention to due dates.
Students can anticipate that they will have assignments to work on at home based on the academics that are running in the classroom. Given the staggered start to the year and the need to learn lots of routines it will take time to get all subject areas going.
The class will have a whole group/class virtual morning meeting on Wednesdays.
Homeroom teachers will communicate meeting times and the platform to be used.
This will start the week of September 14th when all students have had the opportunity to get their Chromebooks from school.
Mrs. DiVece and Mrs. Savio will be available from 12:05 - 12:55 to support students when they are remote - either M/T or Th/F. They created a schedule which shows the focus of their support and it will be posted in Google Classroom. Meeting links will be added for students to access.
Other ways we will connect with students at home:
live read alouds (days/times of the week to be determined)
recorded read alouds
1:1 check-ins/ office hours
small groups check ins
Student Technology Tools
The following is a list of online programs students may use this year. Others could be added as the year progresses. Individual student password documents will be shared with students. We will be send home a permission form regarding student technology programs in the first weeks of school.

What Students Need
We will supply your child with everything he/she needs for the school day. Please plan to send a full water bottle with your child as the water bottle filling stations will likely be closed. The classroom faucet may be available. Students may also bring a lunch/snack (unless getting hot lunch). Students may bring in their own personal hand sanitizer and personal pencils if they would like to but that is not required.
Masks
Students will need two masks at school everyday. Masks will need to be worn on the bus to and from school. They should also be worn at school except when eating and during mask breaks, which we all need!
Lunch and Snack for Ms. Jeffrey's Class
Foods containing peanuts, tree nuts and sesame will not be allowed in Ms. Jeffrey's classroom. Foods processed on equipment with those ingredients are ok. Students will eat snack in the classroom so please do not send foods with peanuts, tree nuts and sesame. The class will eat lunch in the cafeteria so lunch items may contain those ingredients. Common areas such as the cafeteria are closed but an exception has been made for Ms. Jeffrey's class due to the life threatening allergy.
