Astro Message - November

#CelebrateLadd #Ladd50 - 50 years of Excellence

Navigating November

Dear Astro Families,

We have had a great start to our Fall Season at Ladd Acres. Students are finishing up quarter one this week and teachers are preparing for family conferences next week. We look forward to seeing all our families in the building next week. The intended purpose of conferences is to give our families an opportunity to celebrate where your student(s) are academically/socially/emotionally and to collaborate with teachers towards next steps in your student's growth process.

A huge shout out to our Astros and the Ladd Acres community for the largest fund raising total in our school's history. We are appreciative and thankful for our PTA's organization of the event as well as all of you for donating and supporting our students at Ladd. Our PTA has several ideas for how to spend the money including playground upgrades and potential common space furniture upgrades. Please join us at our November PTA meeting as we begin our discussions.

Please note that our school report card for the 2017-18 school year is available at https://www.ode.state.or.us/data/reportcard/reports.aspx. Select Hillsboro School District, Ladd Acres Elementary in the search bar. We our proud of our growth and welcome the opportunity to share this information with you. We are making great stride to improve academic achievement and growth for all our Astros.

We have so many school events this month. Please be sure to check out the events coming up. We need your partnership in order to make these events a success for our students. Finally, affectionately coined "No School November," please make sure you refer to the school calendar for days off or schedule changes.

Have a wonderful November!

With warm regards,

Francesca Sinapi

Principal, Ladd Acres Elementary

Reminders:

  • Please stay in your vehicle when you are in the drive-thru pick up area. If you need to get out to get your child securly situated, please use the walk-up/meet and greet area in the back.
  • Please pull all the way up to the front when you are in the the drive-thru area. Remember, our goal is to get cars off of Cornelius Pass safely.
  • If you are using the internal lane for pick-up, please remind your child to cross with Mrs. Sinapi or Mrs. Anderson only when they tell you it is safe to cross.
  • If you are using the internal lane for pick-up, we will assume students will be loaded on the drive side.
  • When you pull up, please be prepared to let staff members know who you are picking up.

HSD Bond

As you may have noticed, HSD Bond parking lot upgrades continue. Currently, the construction team is working on creating an extension to the internal sidewalk so that it extends to the end (and prevents students and staff from walking in mud), installing lighting in the front and back parking lots, installing irrigation pipes, landscaping and a flag pole. The hope is to have it completed by the end of November.
