Life before the constitution
Three different types of people
Enslaved African Amercan
It's the year 1787 and my family and I work on a tobacco plantation in Virginia. I was convinced that after the american revolution everyone would have freedom. But us black skinned slaves are forced into slavery in the southern states. There is talk that slavery would become abolished, you can buy your freedom, but really you can't become free unless you escape to the northern states. But if somehow you find a way to become free in the north, it wouldn't be all that easy. You would have to start from scratch and you'd likely become a farmer or something easy to start with. Then you will have to work for a living all again.
I live in Virginia and I work as a tobacco farmer. The most important piece and what really depends of my property are the slaves. It's hard to get loans now because because the bank is weary because some states passed laws that we could pay to our creditors. So now it is hard to buy more slaves because they won't lend you money. Also there's now protesting that might take away your private property from the shay's rebellion. And it's only getting worse by having the supplies you sold to the federal government getting paid off by worthless bonds.
I provide loans to people and earn money off the interest they need to pay off.
