Responding Now, Embracing a Community engulfed by Misfortune and Tragedy

Nicole Porter Davis ATR-BC, LCAT, Founding Director of the Emerald Sketch, will address the two most effective clinical approaches provided in Newtown, Ct immediately following the Sandy Hook School tragedy. The workshop will begin with a quick look at the Community outreach model, "How Art therapy heals Trauma" taking the participants through a step by step process applied in Newtown with significant therapy enrollment. Then the second half of the workshop will address providing Open art therapy studios, as well as community support, and education on the benefits of having Art therapists onsite for large scale community events post traumatic community disaster.

What you are experiencing in California is unprecedented, It is truly horrifying, and with great admiration and support I am writing to assure you your expertise in the community is a huge benefit! You are needed and you can gain preparedness here if you feel you want or need more knowledge on art therapy and community trauma response.

Thanksgiving Feast

Nicole will guide the group and for the sake of the season use a Thanksgiving metaphor to build a sense of community within the network of clinicians attending.

Be the mirror.
