Focus on Rigor
"45 states have raised their standards for student proficiency in reading and math, with the greatest gains occurring between 2013 and 2015. Most states set only mediocre expectations for students for nearly 10 years after the passage of the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). Now, in the wake of the Common Core campaign, a majority of states have made a dramatic move forward."

Student Learning Objectives:
No additional SLO tests will be given next year. Teachers will not be required to have two measures for the student growth part of TKES. That means the additional assessments that were made for Music, Art, PE, and Venture will not be used for the 2016-17 school year. As of right now there is plan for all teachers to have two measures for the 2017-18 school year.
