We are hosting our first Leaders of Tomorrow: Experience Accounting Event on Friday, May 31st 8:30 am – 3:30 PM in the Bellingham Office.
This will be an educational experience for high school seniors and college freshman students looking to explore the world of business, professional services, or accounting and gain hands-on experience with real projects and clients!
This exposure event provides the opportunity for interested students to develop new skills, understand their strengths, and create connections that will last as they embark on their career journey. This one-day event will help students get a head start in considering career options in the business field, understand the opportunities available in professional services, and skills to aid in applying for internships or other career opportunities as they transition to college and into their chosen area of study. Lunch will be provided.

Dakota Creek Industries Opening its Apprenticeship Program Application
Dakota Creek Industries is excited to announce the commencement of the application process for its Apprenticeship Program. Aspiring individuals seeking a rewarding career in the marine industry are invited to apply for this formalized, structured three-year training program.
The program, set to begin training on July 1, 2024, offers a unique combination of on-the-job training (OJT) and related supplemental instruction (RSI). Apprentices will benefit from practical, classroom, and technical training, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.
Dakota Creek Industries is committed to providing apprentices with a living wage throughout their education, including periodic raises to reflect increased experience and commitment. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, participants will receive a trade certification recognized internationally, along with a Multi Occupational Trades Associates Degree from Skagit Valley College.

Annual Marine Trades Job Fair
Due to high demand, The Port of Bellingham is in the beginning stages of planning this year’s 3 Annual Marine Trades Job Fair.
SAVE THE DATE- The event will be held at the Fishermen’s Pavilion, 2599 S Harbor Loop Dr, Bellingham on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 10am to 1pm.
Last year we had 25 Marine Trades businesses participate that were looking for workers, had training programs available, as well as internships available. This year is going to be bigger and better, as we have increased our invite list!
The Port of Bellingham promotes this event to a diverse audience, including the general public, community partners, persons interested in exploring careers in the marine industry, and high school/technical schools/colleges/university students throughout the region.
Lunch will be provided to all staff and students.

Welcome to the Anacortes Community Connect, our new online community bulletin board. This platform is designed to connect local organizations with the Anacortes School District Community.
If you are a local organization and would like to request electronic flyer distribution to the Anacortes School District Community, you may do so through our online request form. Please note that programs, activities, or events must be appropriate for school-aged children and their families.
We hope that this platform will help foster a stronger sense of community and provide a space for local organizations to share their events and activities with the wider community reach. Each event is clickable that takes you directly to the event signup and website!
