Leadership Message

One Word…

AS we embark on a new year with joy and anticipation, we pause to reflect on what the year will hold for us, how we want to embrace this gift of time, and who we want to be in 2019. To truly be the masterpiece God has created in each one of us, new beginnings offer us an opportunity to renew our hearts and spirits for growth.

Some of our students have taken on the One Word challenge for 2019, reflecting on how and who they want to be this year. Their words are powerful and show the depth of how kids can reflect if you open the door. Wonder, Hope, Try, Brave, Unique, Adventure, Patience, Inspire...

Whatever our word may be, we know that it is through our one God that ALL is possible and we can truly be the masterpiece He calls us to be.

I beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, who is above all and through all and in all”. Ephesians 4:1-6

Accountability Pillar Survey

As an annual check-up on the education system, the Accountability Pillar provides an opportunity for Alberta Education and school authorities to ensure that we are equipping students for success.

The Accountability Pillar uses a set of 16 indicators. Data on these indicators consists of surveys of students, parents and teachers on various aspects of education quality, student outcomes such as dropout and high school completion rates, and provincial assessments of student learning.

From January to the end of February, Alberta Education will be conducting the annual Accountability Pillar Survey.

· In January, parents of students in grades 4 - 8 will receive a survey from Alberta

Education in the mail.

· In February, students in grades 4-8 and all teachers will be completing their

surveys online at school.

All surveys are anonymous and ask questions about experiences with your child's school. Your participation in the survey helps provide important information on the quality of education your child is receiving, so we encourage you to return your survey promptly.

Survey results will be available to school authorities in May 2019, and will be reported publicly as part of Elk Island Catholic’s Assurance plan and Annual Education Results Reports. Thank you for participating and providing us with feedback to help guide us in your child's educational journey.
