FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents,
As we come to the close of our school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each student, parent and staff member for making this school year so successful. I am thankful for each one of you and would like to wish you a very relaxing and safe summer. To our families who will not be returning to David Elementary, we wish you the best and hope you will come back to visit.
A letter regarding our “Meet the Teacher” will be sent via email around the first of August. Again, have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you at “Meet the Teacher” on Monday, August 9th.
Sincerely,
Lee Allen
4TH GRADE WALK OF HONOR - WEDNESDAY, MAY 26TH - 9:30 AM
On Wednesday, May 26th, beginning at 9:30 am, we will be having a special Fourth Grade "Walk of Honor" as we celebrate our fourth grade students who will be leaving David Elementary. This year, the route will include a portion that is outside and our Fourth Grade parents are invited to attend. We ask that parents wear a mask, and gather outside in our playground area where we will have you line the route to cheer on our students. So that we may begin promptly at 9:30, please help us by arriving early, wearing your mask and social distance as much as possible. You are welcome to bring instruments, party blowers, etc...anything that will make noise (please no Silly String, confetti, or anything that is difficult to clean up). If you have any questions, please call us at 281-298-4700 or reach out to your child's teacher.
EARLY RELEASE DAY - WEDNESDAY, MAY 26TH
Wednesday, May 26th, will be an early release day for all CISD students. The school day will begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 12:10 p.m. Normal bus routes will run beginning at 12:10 p.m.
If possible, students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch that day due to time constraints. However, a full menu will be available for purchase. Lunch times will be as follows:
K: 10:55, 1st: 11:00
2nd: 11:05, 3rd: 11:10
4th 11:15
END OF YEAR REPORT CARDS AND PARENT ACCESS
All end of the year report cards, with the exception of Kindergarten, will be available on Parent Access after May 27th. Kindergarten report cards will be mailed on the 27th. If you still have not set up a Parent Access Account, please do so as soon as possible.
If you do not have a Parent Access account set up, please go to the CISD homepage at http://www.conroeisd.net. Click the “Parents/Student” tab, and then “Parent Access.” Choose “Register” if you do not have an account or “Login” if you have previously set up an account. Please read all of the instructions carefully before beginning. Look under frequently asked questions for answers on how to change your email, retrieve password, etc. The student identification number is your child’s CISD number, which also happens to be his/her lunch number. If you are not sure of this number, please look at a previous report card or email your child's teacher. You can also email Lori McCraw at lmccraw@conroeisd.net if you need help.

SUMMER READING 2021
Information about the David Summer Reading Program will be coming home with your student this week. It will also be on the Library website on the David home page. The purpose of our summer reading program is to encourage students to become lifelong readers and to continue to build their independent reading skills in a fun and engaging way. We hope all of our David Dolphins will continue reading over the summer!

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION
THANK YOU!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done for us this year. The volunteer hours from home, the luncheons, the special treats, the patience and tremendous support you have given us throughout the year is appreciated more than words can express! We could not do it without you! We love our Dolphin Family!
CLINIC END OF YEAR NEWS
End of Year Medication
If your child has medication stored in the clinic, you will receive a letter this week. All medicines must be picked up by an adult no later than Wednesday, May 26th, at 12 noon (medication cannot be sent home with a student). We are unable to store medication over the summer—items remaining after May 26th will be discarded. Emergency medications (inhalers, epinephrine, antihistamines, etc.) should remain at school until our last day.
When picking up medications, please ring the front doorbell. Medication will be brought to you on the porch. If you will be picking up at arrival or dismissal, please email (ashaul@conroeisd.net) or call ahead so we can have everything ready when you arrive.
Clothing
If your child has borrowed clothing from the clinic, please return these items so they may be used by other students. Most items are labeled “Please return to David Clinic.”
It has been a pleasure to care for and get to know your children this year. Wishing you all a safe and happy summer. See you in August!
