Message from the Principal
Dear Central Road Families,
It was amazing to welcome back our 3rd and 4th graders! We can’t wait to see our 5th and 6th grade students on Tuesday! A friendly reminder, that we do not have school on Monday.
The re-entry of our students has been a very smooth transition. Our in-person students are doing an incredible job in their classrooms.
Please join me in welcoming Central Road’s new school nurse, Ms. Amita Patel. Ms. Patel has an extensive background in nursing. Ms. Patel is team-oriented, an excellent communicator and will ensure that all of the students at Central Road have their individual needs met through her care. Ms. Patel can be contacted at patela1@ccsd15.net or 847-963-5102.
Picture day is quickly approaching on Thursday, October 22. Pictures will be taken in our gym. The space will be ventilated and frequently sanitized. We will invite one in-person class down at a time, and will clean in between classes. Students who are in virtual classrooms are invited to come to Central Road on Thursday, October 22nd from 1:30-3:00. If you are interested in having your child’s picture taken, please complete this form, so we know how many students to expect. Virtual Student Pictures
At the end of the school year, Central Road creates a yearbook that includes individual student photos and pictures of students engaged in learning activities.
Parents may submit a individual student photograph of their child later this school year for the yearbook, if you elect to not move forward with a photograph through Interstate. The photos will be added to our yearbook.
We are also collecting submissions of photographs of your child participating in school activities in the virtual learning environment. Please add photos to this folder. Pictures will be collected through the month of March. Central Road 2020-21 Yearbook Photos
We can’t wait to see our fifth and sixth-grade students on Tuesday!
Warmly,
Patti Van Winkle, Principal

Interstate Studio Safety Measures
We are sharing the following information on our protocols so you know exactly what to expect from Interstate as Fall Picture Day 2020 approaches.
Please know that the health and well-being of our schools, our employees and every
community is top priority, and we are doing everything we can to reduce the
spread of COVID-19.
Fall Picture Day
Our photography team has been updating procedures and preventive measures that
include, but are not limited to:
Sanitation of Photo Equipment- Cameras, equipment and stools will be sanitized between
every class or group.
Photographers
are required to wear face coverings.
Social Distancing- The distance between the camera and a student is 6 feet. Paper
tape will be used to mark 6 feet apart for the student lines.
No-touch Order Envelope Collection- We are working to be 100% paperless this year, with all ordering done safely online.
We will keep the same teams of photographers together, minimizing
their exposure to other photographers.
Additionally, we will continue to follow guidance from local authorities in each of the communities we work in regarding further developments. Your safety and peace of mind is important to us, and we hope this better informs you of the measures we have put in place.
MAP Testing
Virtual students who are completing the assessment at home, if you receive an error with the resolution on your child's computer, please follow the steps in this video.
