Dear St. Jerome Families,
We invite you all to join us this evening for the Kiss a Pig event at the Abington Arts Center at 5:00 PM (515 Meetinghouse Road Jenkintown, PA 19046) from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mrs. McConnell (6B and 6th grade ELA and Social Studies) will be kissing the pig on behalf of St. Jerome! Please click here for more information or see below in the newsletter. We raised 400.00 with the last dress down day, for a total of 800.00. This will be matched and added to by TruMark; I will let you know the amount of the grant when we receive it later this year.
Archbishop Perez has granted an Archbishop's holiday to all of the schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in appreciation of the efforts of our dedicated teachers. In looking at our calendar, to preserve these last few full weeks of instruction as well as give notice, we will be taking the holiday on Ascension Thursday, Thursday, May 26th. In addition, the last day of school for 1st-8th grades remains on June 10th, as originally scheduled. I don't like to make calendar changes, but I thank you for your support and flexibility.
Sister Margaret Rose Adams, IHM, will be visiting tomorrow from the Office of Catholic Education. She is our assistant superintendent who came for the school visit in November. I invited her to come visit to discuss our progress with St. Lucy's and see our school.
May God bless our first communicants who received our Lord for the first time in the Holy Eucharist this past Saturday morning: Luke Agront, Ryan Chiaccio, Alexandria Cirillo, Giana Clarke, Tyler Czop, Kayla DuBeck, Brayden Evanitsky, Destenee Fallas-Espinoza, Kaden Ewing, Colin Fitzpatrick, Scarlett Gordon, Damian Hancock, Vincent Johnson, Kelli Peak, Alexa Pesce, Kodi Preston, Evan Spiker, Austin Steger, Jordan Twegby, Kaden Wiley, Maximus Winkelspecht, & Matthew Wisniewski.
Thank you for the support of the Summer Cash Raffle. If you need more tickets, you can request them from the office (send in a note or email info@sjsphila.org). Friends and family (especially those that live out of town) can also Venmo @sjsphila and we will fill out the tickets and send them a message on Venmo with their ticket numbers. For every five tickets that each family sells, you will receive an entry to win a month's tuition payment. Mrs. Bacanskas is keeping track of all of the ticket sales and filling out an entry for every five tickets that a family sells.
Our Student Council is holding a bake sale on May 19th to raise funds for Spirit Day (which will be held on June 1st). Please see the flyer below or in the Wednesday Folder for more details.
SAVE THE DATE: The St. Jerome Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2022. We look forward to an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship! The Festival Committee is in need of more volunteers to help with this great event. If you are interested in helping with the planning of the St. Jerome Festival, please contact festival@sjsphila.org for more information.
Have a great rest of the week; St. Jerome, pray for us!
