Great Kindness Challenge

The need for kindness and unity is greater than ever, so Oster will participate in the Great Kindness Week again this year. This week intends to focus on kindness and see it permeate our campus culture, off school grounds, and into our local community.

Throughout the week teachers will be promoting acts of kindness and providing students with different lessons. For creative and simple ways your family can participate, check out the video below and print the Kindness Checklist for helpful tips and examples.

By the end of the week, I would like to celebrate all the wonderful things our community did. Please consider sharing with us by uploading a picture or video to THIS FOLDER. The more, the better.

Principal's Kindness Challenge

Let's show some Oster love to our local healthcare workers! My principal's challenge for students and families is to create a Valentine(s) for them. A box will be placed outside the office (8:00-3:30) for students to drop off their Valentine(s). Friday, February 12th, I will deliver them to our local healthcare facilities. My goal is to collect over 500. WE CAN DO THIS! #Go Cougars

You’ve all heard the story of Aladdin and the Genie of the lamp. Now you can be a part of the storytelling! This is a Starting Arts virtual production offered to Oster students in 3rd through 5th grade. Rehearsals will happen over Zoom. During tech week, the director will help students create video recordings that will be professionally edited into a movie. In May, Starting Arts will host a virtual watch party so that students can invite friends and family (from anywhere!) to see their talent, hard work, and dedication in action! Production starts February 3rd, 2021. Visit https://bit.ly/osteraladdin for more information and to register.

Please be on the lookout for an email from your student's teacher with a personalized upload link for their class portrait using EZPix from Balfour. It's just a few simple steps to crop and upload their portrait--you can even do it straight from your phone. Photo tips: avoid a busy background, no harsh light or dark shadows on faces, and please try to include head and shoulders (much like the boy in the frame) in your photo. If you haven’t received a link, please follow up with your teacher. The first class to submit all of their photos will win a prize from the yearbook committee.
