Principal's Message
Happy Fall, Willow Dale Families!
This week, we will be moving to the modified elementary virtual schedule. By now, your child’s classroom teacher should have shared the daily learning schedule for the grade level. This new schedule will provide a common lunch period for all Willow Dale students and will continue to provide learning opportunities, as well as time for student intervention and enrichment. It also has built-in vital time away from the screen so that students have time to catch up on assignments, and downtime that supports the importance that making time for playing has in child development. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new schedule, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Plans for library book pick-up days are underway. Mrs. Zucker and the classroom teachers will be helping the students learn how to reserve their favorite books digitally. Please check your email in the near future for more information.
As the colder weather is upon us, you may be looking for your child’s cold-weather gear. The Lost and Found from last year contains many coats, sweatshirts, and other items. If you are missing an item, please be sure to visit the Lost & Found during the picture days/times. We will share some pictures and provide more details next week on where the items will be displayed. In the meantime, you can certainly call the office to schedule a time to come in and look for a missing item.
On Monday, September 21, the Home & School will host the first meeting of the year virtually. Click here for the link to join the meeting tomorrow at 6:15 PM. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
We are in this together. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any feedback or suggestions.
To our families celebrating Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, best wishes for a good holiday and new year.
Have a great week!

Counselors' Corner
How can kids request to speak to their school counselors?
We have a virtual “Talking time” slip similar to what we use when we are in the building. This google form can be found in our virtual school counseling office on the mail slot on the counselor’s door. The google form is sent to Mrs. Zemitis and Mrs. LaRose and then we can send your child a calendar invite with a google meet link to speak to them directly. We are reviewing this with students during our counselor lessons this week and next week so that they know how to access the form.
Here is the link to our virtual school counseling office. Please visit us to explore some different resources and activities for kids!

Family Trips Scheduled During the School Year
Dear Centennial Families;
The Centennial School District Board of School Directors approved Policy 204.1, Family Trips Scheduled During School Year.
Although the scheduling of family trips during the instructional year is not encouraged, the Centennial School Board recognizes that students may benefit educationally by accompanying their parent(s)/guardian(s) on trips. The revision to the policy will allow the schools to approve up to five (5) days instead of three (3). Any trip beyond five (5) days will need the approval of the Superintendent.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) who are requesting approval for a family trip need to complete and submit the attached form to their building principal at least two (2) weeks before the trip.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Perkins or Mr. Julius.
