A Message from the Principal
More Avian Superheroes...
…Well I guess this week’s avian superhero wasn’t The Falcon but he sure was adorable. Did you hear about this adventure from your children this week? See below for a picture of our little friend that was lost but found his way to be rescued at Everett. The staff at Everett were true superheroes. Mrs. Cranford found him a home, Mr. Diaz lured him to safety with the antennae on his walkie, Mr. Sostre posed with him in his pirate outfit and Mrs. Bohlin ran home to upgrade his cage. Nurse Shalala posted on Facebook that the bird was found and the next thing we knew, parents were calling to bring bird food. Within the hour, the owner was at Everett and it turned out the little bird found his way to Everett all the way from Vernon Hills! The energy of this community raises me up everyday and truly does the work of real superheroes!

Some of Everett's CSCI scores showed a need to address social emotional wellness. This year we will be tackling some of the issues around bullying, cyberbullying, social emotional wellness and social media that can infiltrate our children's lives. Please join me for some coffee and conversation on some Fridays (and one Thursday) this year.
