Silverdale News

Week of 9/18

The Week at a Glance

It's been a busy week at Silverdale! Our 3rd graders successfully completed their first BOG, the Boy Scouts visited each of our classes to encourage participation in joining a troop, we kicked off our Candyman fundraiser, and the Action Team for Partnerships met for the first time. Our Dairy Queen Dilly Bars were a HUGE hit and we thank all of our families for helping it be so successful, we sold 263 bars!

On Monday, students will take their school pictures; please dress your best! We are continuing to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims through the end of the month. Please continue to send in your donations and take them to the library. Our winning grade level will enjoy a dance party with administration. On Thursday, we will release students early (12:30pm) for teachers to participate in professional development.

Candyman Fundraiser Continues....

Our Candyman Fundraiser continues through Friday. Please help us to reach out to families and friends in supporting Silverdale with this event. We use these proceeds to purchase instructional materials for our classrooms. Turn in all orders/money by Friday, September 22.

Morning Drop-Offs

We love seeing our families drop off their children in the mornings. However, I have asked our teachers to be engaged with our students and to give them their full attention. They may not have time to speak with you when you are dropping off your child, but please email them or set up a time for a parent conference anytime you feel you need one.

Back to School Night

On Tuesday, September 26 (5:00-6:30pm), we will hold our Back to School Night. At this time, we will share academic end of year expectations for students to be promoted to the next grade level, offer Powerschool parent sessions for you to learn how to check your child's grades throughout the year, and parents will have an opportunity to sign up for a conference. There will be a scavenger hunt game card for students and when they have answered their questions, they may return their card for a free popcorn and a chance to win a $50 book fair credit. This will also be a great time to visit our book fair. We'll have hot dogs, chips, and drinks available for purchase. Our Parent Lighthouse Team will have a booth and will be looking for volunteers to join their organization. The Boys and Girls Club will be here to share their program and to take new registrations. Please make sure to join us for this floating event.

Please remember to turn in your fees for the 17-18 school year, if you haven't already done so!
