Pros of Recess
by Cameron Egan, David Hanna, and Zach Brogan
Why is Recess Important for Kids at LPMS?
Recess is important for all kids for many reasons such as health, social well-being, and education. One main goal for bringing back recess is to stop rising obesity rates in America.
Health
Obviously, kids will be healthier mentally and physically if we give them recess. More exercise will lower obesity rates and less time in class will lower stress on a student's mind.
Social Wellness
Kids will be healthier and will have more time to socialize and make friends. This will also lower stress on a kid if they are making friends.
Education
Education is also a benefit of allowing kids to have recess in middle school. A recent study shows that kids without recess did worse on a test in school than kids supplied with recess.

Now you know why all of us students at Lincoln Park Middle School desire recess like we did in elementary school.
