CONGRATULATIONS - STEM DESIGN CHALLENGE
On February 14, 28 of our 4th – 6th graders presented their devices to make the world better to the STEM Design Challenge judging panel. All of the entries were creative, and it was evident that a great deal of effort and research went into the designs. Every participant should be extremely proud of themselves!
After a long deliberation, the judges have selected the winners. In the elementary division, which included grades 4 and 5, the judges would like to recognize two teams. In second place is S.M.A.R.T., comprised of Mackenzie Keith, Sophia Shea, Aurora Swierczek, and Regina Otero Pacheco. In first place, and earning the honor of advancing to the county tournament on March 15th is the Super Subs. This team includes Clara Wilson, Ari Mendez, Sneha Srinivasan, and Avery Massey.
In the middle school division, we’d like to congratulate the first place team, which will also compete at the county tournament next month. Congratulations to the Mars Miners: Lauren Hailey, Lily Gonzalez, and Rebekah Campagna.
Great job to all of our engineers!
We’d also like to thank our fantastic judging panel: Dr. Heidi Lehmann, Mr. Dennis Fletcher, Dr. Cheryl Bell, and High School Engineering Students John Vallino, Maddie Braun, Aaron Beekley, and Michael McGuigan. We would not have been able to have such a successful event without your expertise and guidance.
