Mrs. Kennedy's Friday Letter

February 5, 2015

The men who try to do something and fail are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed. - Lloyd Jones

A peek into our week

-ELA - We are enjoying the new Guided Reading Library during Book Club times

-Our sentence writing skills are very helpful as we turn the penguin research we are collecting into our own amazing sentences. We are also still working on our Snow Globe stories.

Bible - While studying Ruth we focused on Respect. WE LOVED listening to the Bible App and following along while we read the whole book of Ruth.

Math - Counting money has been a lot of fun. Next week we will begin learning about fractions! We didn't do very well working on Math Facts in a Flash so we will hit it hard next week. Several of the kids are so close to mastering a level. Please have them practice this at home.

Science - We have begun a unit on Simple Machines and are planning several fun experiments. I have a list of basic items we will need and will send it home soon.

Social Studies - Learning about Tennessee continues to be a lot of fun. We really enjoyed the giant Tennessee map we used during our lessons.
