Veterans Day

BBE would like to celebrate our Veterans with an invitation to a reception at the Bear Branch Park Gazebo on Veterans Day, Thursday November 11at 2:00 pm. All BBE students are welcome to invite an immediate family member who is currently serving or who has served in the military. As the veterans and families exit the reception, they will form a car parade for all BBE students, who will cheer them on with special signs and banners. Please contact the Veterans Day coordinator Patrick Brom at with any questions.

Spirit Store Is Open!

The Spirit Store has reopened just in time for the holidays! Place your order on the BBE PTA website. Orders are due by Wednesday, November 17.

Pickup / Dropoff Safety Procedures

Please observe the following safety procedures at arrival and dismissal:

  • Doors automatically unlock at 7:30 am. Please do not arrive earlier to wait in your car, as it backs up traffic and blocks parking lots.
  • Please do not double park next to the car line to drop off students who then dangerously cross in front of cars.
  • Please do not drop off students on the street - pull up to the curb in the front or back parking lot to drop off students
  • While waiting in the car pick up line, please do not block the sidewalk with your car
  • Do not park your car on the north side of Tree Lane at dismissal time (No Parking signs are posted, and officers may issue tickets). Only cars waiting in the car line are allowed.

Forgotten Items

Parents may drop off forgotten items (lunches, water bottles, library books, etc.) on the marked shelf in the front foyer of the school. Labels are provided to mark the item with your child's name and teacher's name. Safety Patrol members are happy to deliver the Items daily at 10:00 am. To reduce classroom disruptions, we are unable to call into the classrooms or deliver items after that time. Please email your child's teacher to alert him/her of any items dropped off after 10:00 am, and your child may pick up the item at the teacher's discretion.

Attendance Procedures

Official Attendance Time at BBE is 9:50 am. Please contact your child's teacher AND the attendance office to report an absence, using one of the following methods:

Detailed absence information is available on the Attendance webpage of the BBE website.

Wisdom Wednesdays

Parents, every Wednesday we promote college awareness at BBE. Students will have the opportunity to watch college promo videos or videos from BBE alumni sharing where they attended college. Please encourage your child to join us by wearing a college or military t-shirt each Wednesday. All our Bears have bright futures!

Here are a few ideas for enjoying the evening’s haul responsibly and getting rid of leftover treats:

  • Keep enough candy to have one or two pieces a day for a couple weeks. Long enough for the excitement to wear off.

  • Pair a piece of candy with a healthy snack like an apple, banana, nuts, celery with peanut butter or other healthy treats.

  • Buy-back candy from your child with money or other activities they can trade-in for fun like a day at the zoo, and afternoon at the park or a trip to the movies.

  • Contact your local fire station, homeless shelter or children’s hospital for candy donations

  • Save it for holiday baking
