October 10

Good evening Viper families,

Good evening Viper families,

Vista Magnet is resuming our Ballet Folklorico dance club, and our first meeting is this Thursday, October 14th from 3:15 - 4:15 pm in the Palm Court. To join the club students and parents must attend on Thursday for a parent meeting and the first student practice. The club will meet on Thursdays after school each week for Ballet Folklorico dance instruction, and performances will be scheduled in the spring.

Parents - please remember our supervised Pick-Up and Drop-Off location is on Eucalyptus Avenue next to our field. Please do not use the staff parking lot on Civic Center Drive for student pick-up and drop-off. The staff parking lot has become busy recently and we are concerned about safety. Thank you for using our Pick-Up and Drop-Off location on Eucalyptus Avenue only.

Please be aware VUSD will soon implement a new Independent Study program for students who are absent for COVID related situations. All parents were sent an email on September 24th with an Independent Study Agreement form to complete in case of an absence. Please complete the form using this link if you haven’t already: https://forms.vistausd.org/Forms/QuarantineIndependentStudyAgreement

Mark you calendars for the following week: we will hold a Virtual Cafecito parent meeting next week on Tuesday, October 19th from 3:45 - 4:45 pm. Join counselors and administrators to learn about upcoming school events, resources for support, and an opportunity to make your voice heard.

Last week we had 0 individuals at our school who tested positive for COVID-19. Staff members and students who may have come into close contact with the individual(s) have already received a separate communication from school staff and San Diego County Public Health. Students who are home in quarantine or due to a COVID related situation should refer to our Student Quarantine Instructions to stay up to date with their classwork. You may also check the VUSD COVID-19 Case Dashboard at any time for information on VMMS and all VUSD schools. We encourage everyone who is eligible to get the COVID vaccination, which is now available free at the Vista Innovation Center every weekday. Click here for COVID vaccination clinic information.

Thank you and have a great evening,

Vista Magnet Middle School
