2020 County Fair

Please reserve July 11-19 on your calendars. This includes Saturday clean up, Monday static check in, Tues/Wed animal check in, Sunday animal check out.


The 4-H Foundation will finalize show schedules during the January meeting.

Holiday Closing

The Extension Office will be closed December 24 through January 3.

Market Beef Weigh In

Saturday, February 8 at 8:30 am at Russ Tegtmeier's.

All youth participating in a Market Beef project for next year need to attend this event. Contact the office by February 7 if you plan on attending so we have a head count.

Back up date due to weather will be Saturday, February 22.

Fruit Sale

Our annual fundraiser is drawing near! More information will be sent out after the first of the year, but please mark these dates on your calendar.

  • Sales Start: January 23
  • Sales End: February 10
  • Delivery date: February 29

County Fairbook

The office will be updating the county fairbook for 2020. New fairbooks will be available in the office or online mid-February. State Fair changes have not been posted yet, but County changes include:


  • Born & Raised Market Animal Classes - NEW class for market animals where the animals have to have been born, raised, and fed with-in the operation of a 4-H’ers immediate family (family, grandparent, sibling, uncle, or aunt) in Pawnee County or in the county which the 4-H’er lives. This class will be shown at the beginning of the market classes and top purples will return for Champion/Reserve Champ Born & Raised and be able to come back for Supreme Market Champion. The animals must be ID’ed by deadline day to only ONE 4-H youth for the Born & Raised class, in addition this entry will not count against max number of entries.

  • Dairy Steer Class - Class is open to dairy steers as an alternative to market beef.
  • Bucket Calf Senior Division - Bucket calf project will be open to all youth. Record books will be judged.
  • New Static County Only Departments - Small Engines & Vehicle Restoration and Model Building
