8th Grade Recognition Ceremony

There is no ticketing for this event. Attendance is open to all. Seating will be on the home side (with press box). Gate opens at 7:00 PM. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Moore's competition gym, and seating will be limited to three guests per 8th grade student. The decision will be communicated on Monday afternoon.

Students must be present at school to participate, and are not permitted to sign-out early. There will be a required rehearsal during the school day. Students are asked to arrive at Rose Stadium no later than 7:30 PM, in time to find their seat on the field. Guests will not be permitted on the field.

Rose Stadium - Clear Bag Policy

Permitted bags include:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12";
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar); and
  • Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand).
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:

  • Purses larger than a clutch bag
  • Diaper bags - items normally carried in a diaper bag must be in a clear plastic bag for entry to the stadium.
  • Cases (camera, binocular, etc.)
  • Backpacks/Cinch Bags (includes clear backpacks/cinch bags)
  • Fanny packs
  • Reusable grocery totes
  • Mesh or straw bags
  • Duffle bags
  • Large totes

Attention Parents of Prospective Athletes: Required Athletic Forms

Next week, free physical evaluations will be offered on campus, during the school day. (Exact date and time TBA). In order to participate in athletics, all students must turn in a completed Medical History Form. This will be due on Friday, May 14. Prospective athletes in grades 6 and 8, as well as 7th graders who did not obtain a physical evaluation this year, will be required to obtain a physical evaluation for the upcoming school year. We strongly encourage you to complete and return the Medical History Form, and consent to your child's participation in the free physicals offered on campus. If you intend to obtain the physical evaluation through your child's primary care physician, please indicate that on the Medical History Form.

Chromebook Return Dates Approaching

Students will return their Chromebooks and chargers on the following dates.

May 13,14 - 8th grade

May 18,19 - 6th grade

May 20, 21 - 7th grade

In keeping with Tyler ISD's Technology Agreement, students will be responsible for lost or damaged devices and chargers. By paying the minimal repair fee, students are cleared to receive a Chromebook for the upcoming school year, and we are able to maintain a full supply of student devices.
