PMES PTA PRESS
August 2022
Welcome Back, Hawks!
Upcoming Events
Georgia PTA will be transitioning the PTA’s E-commerce platform from MyPaymentsPlus to MemberHub starting this school year. MemberHub will operate just like MyPaymentsPlus has in previous years for all PTA fundraisers and payments, offering parents the option to purchase PTA memberships, pay for spirit wear, PTA events and several other school and fundraising initiatives.
Please note that this platform will be replacing MyPaymentsPlus for PTA related expenses only as MyPaymentsPlus will still be used for lunch account balances, field trips and other school related expenses that are separate from the PTA.
The site is now LIVE! Hop on over and take care of SEF contributions, PTA memberships and staff appreciation donations today! Be sure to add it to your favorites!
Join the PMES PTA Today!
We hope that in the coming year, you will help us continue giving our school incredible support by volunteering your time and talents, contributing financially, or both.
Join the PTA. This is a simple step that you can take on Memberhub. It only costs $7 per child, parent or family member to join and you are NOT required to attend meetings. As a PTA member, you can serve on one of our committees, vote on matters brought before the PTA, benefit from several discounts, or simply show that you support our school. Click on the MemberHub link below to become a member today!
Do I need to purchase a PTA membership for parent(s) and child?
Yes, we encourage you to purchase PTA memberships for each parent and all students who attend PMES as our PTA bylaws do not allow "Family Memberships." To join, visit our MemberHub site at the link below. Please select the appropriate membership type (either Parent/Guardian or Student." We appreciate your support!
What will I get out of having a PTA membership?
Contribute to your child's school, stay informed, make new connections, give back and have some fun along the way! Each membership helps strengthen our community as we strive to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of ALL of our students. Members are able to vote on matters that help support our students, staff, and school-while also receiving PTA perks.
We can't wait for you to join us!

First PTA Meeting of the Year!
Student Enrichment Fund
As the school year gets started, you will probably hear a lot of talk about the Student Enrichment Fund, or SEF. This fund is a one time $30 donation made to your child's classroom to aid in the funding of various celebrations and classroom activities throughout the year. From class treats, parties, educational materials and teacher needs, this fund covers the majority of each class' necessities throughout the school year. When you contribute to SEF, you are helping your student's teacher and room moms as this provides a budget from which they can work with during the school year to cut down on the amount of requests sent home to parents.
As an ADDED BONUS, if you contribute before Friday, September 2nd, your student's class shirt is included with the $30 contribution. The class shirt is used throughout the year for Field Day, class field trips, and other events. Contributing to your child's class SEF account ensures that your child will receive their class shirt promptly.
Why is 5th Grade's SEF contribution more expensive?
Fifth grade is kind of a big deal! With 5th grade being the last year in elementary school, there will be several special events throughout the year to celebrate.
The $60 will cover Field Day (usually held at Mill Creek High School), and classroom celebrations (winter party, spring party, Milestone treats). This money will also cover your student's end of the year Achievement Day festivities. Held during the last week of school, Achievement Day is a special day for 5th grade students. There will be a catered lunch, ice cream bar, and other fun entertainment activities.
If the $60 contribution is made before Friday, September 2nd, your child's Field Day/class shirt will also be included. The 5th grade class shirt is different than other grades. The 5th grade shirt is designed by a fellow 5th grade classmate and the name of all 5th grade students are listed on the back.
We can't wait to celebrate the class of 2030!
