This week we will ask, “What might cause a story character to change?” In the humorous fiction story Officer Buckle and Gloria, we’ll read about the teamwork between a police officer and his dog. We’ll read about a different kind of teamwork in the play Safety at Home.

Haddon Township Multi-school Arts Project
This week we will complete our two-headed beast stories and create heads for our characters. We will sculpt our heads with Mrs. Kiick, High School Art teacher, on Monday the 22nd. Please pack a snack and a lunch for Monday. We will be eating lunch late and buying is not an option!
On Tuesday, we will read our beast narratives to the High School Ceramics II class live through Google Hangout! Then the ceramics students will create bodies for our beast heads based on their interpretation of our stories!

Social Studies: Learn About People
This week we will create a class chart of family names and cultural backgrounds. Students will share their family trees. We will discover that people of different cultures express themselves in different ways and we will explore diversity in the United States. We will compare and contrast people's work, interests, and talents. We will discuss respecting the differences of our many cultures and ways to make our community a welcome place to live.
