From The Desk Of Zeta Chi's Alumni Relations Chair
Greetings Brothers,
First off, I would like to wish all alumni a happy Easter from the men of Zeta Chi. As the new alumni relations chair for Zeta Chi, my goal for this year is to improve alumni relations with the active members and continue to improve active and alumni morale. I hope you will consider joining us for the upcoming Spring Parties. A crawfish boil will be held at the Shelter on April 6 around noon with an award session to follow. We hope you to see you soon.

Academics
Zeta Chi was ranked 4th in grades for Fall 2012 with a GPA of 2.84. Raising the chapter GPA above a 3.0 is imperative. All three higher ranked chapters have met or exceeded a 3.0. Trevor Mette, VPAA, continues to implement the chapters best academic practices while creating individual goals for each member. Zeta Chi is also proud to report that Alumni Jeff Rodriguze has been working with Trevor to provide academic review and individual attention to each active member.
EXECUTIVE SPOTLIGHT
Zeta Chi’s newly elected treasurer Jose Alvarado is a sophomore psychology major from Memphis, Tennessee. He came to Southern Miss because his two best friends inspired him to become a golden eagle. Jose’s best friend’s older brother, Michael Melton, was vice president at the time. After meeting the men in the chapter, Jose knew this chapter was where he was meant to be. Jose wanted to represent Zeta Chi as treasurer to ensure that financial integrity is upheld and that Zeta Chi is financially stable.
GAMMA ETA SPOTLIGHT
In Fall 2012, Zeta Chi initiated an outstanding 17 new members into the chapter. This is the biggest pledge class in over a decade. Out of these new members, two serve on the executive board and six serve as admin chairs. Austen Hughes serves as secretary and Kiet Duong as VP of recruitment. On admin, Jarred Tramell as community service chair, Jacob Fitzgerald as road chair, Ryan Lehman as housing and rounds chair, Austin Davidson as alumni relations chair, Austin Hughes as public relations chair, and Luke Goss as brotherhood chair. With almost half of the Gamma Eta pledge class holding leadership roles, Delta Tau Delta continues to offers new members an immediate opportunity to be in a leadership position.
