Dietary Guidelines encourage Americans to eat a healthful diet and maintain a healthy weight, promote health, and promote disease. A heath risk is anything that may reduce human health. These may be ranked according to high, low, or moderate. A diet is the kinds of foods a person eats.

How to maintain a healthy weight?

A risk factor is any attribute, characteristic or exposure of an individual that increases the likelihood of developing a disease or injury. Heath problems that are related to too much body fat are diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Health risks for being underweight are having bones break easily, bruising easily being really fragile, heart disease and diabetes, and lower immune system. Eating healthy and increasing physical activity are two ways to lose weight.

Being physically active.

Active living can keep you from gaining weight and keep you healthy and also better sleep and higher energy. It is recommended that each teen should get at least 1 hour of physical activity a day. This could be as simple as walking a lot at school or cutting the grass or actually going to a gym. Including physical activity could help you gain muscle and lose body fat and calories.

The 2 types of fats that raise cholesterol are trans fats and unsaturated fats the

diseases that could develop from a high fat diet would be heart diseases and high cholesterol. Guidelines to achieve moderate fat intake are keep saturated fats to less than 10 percent of your calories, eats as few foods containing trans fats as possible.

Be choosy about Carbohydrates.

Food with natural sugars are things like fruit and milk. Things with added sugar are things such as soda and candy. You should limit your sugar intake so you don't be at risk for diabetes, tooth decay, and cavities.
