Valentine's Day Party...
This Friday, February 12th, is our Valentine's Day Party from 9:30-10:15. We will be doing our Valentine Day card exchange in our classroom following the party. I have purchased white gift bags for the kids to decorate on Thursday, February 11th. If you would like to donate any stickers, heart shaped cutouts, foam stickers, or anything else to help decorate the bags; it would be greatly appreciated. Also, please have your child fill out their Valentine Day cards at home. Below is a list of all the students in our class. Your child can chose to address cards to each individual student or they may choose to just sign their name and give cards randomly to their classmates. We currently have 18 students in our class.

Things happening in the classroom....
Over the past few weeks we have been learning about adjectives. One way that children connect adjectives to the real world is by having them do the Mystery Bag activity. The children had to reach down into different bags and feel around. Then they were asked to write down a word of how each item felt (soft, bumpy, cold, etc...). Next we shared what we wrote down and revealed the mystery items. The kids really had a blast with this activity! Check out the photos below of them with the Mystery Bags.
100th Day of School Celebration....
We had so much fun celebrating the 100th day of school! While making a yummy trail mix, we practiced counting by tens. The students also got a chance to share with the class their collection of 100 things. They also got creative when doing their writing pieces about being one hundred years old and if they had one hundred dollars. Thank you to those of you who sent in donations so that our class could do these fun activities!
