This topic is about how wearable technology affects the individuals and their role in our world. This includes how it affects our education, our safety, health care, daily life, and more. We will be looking at the disadvantages and advantages in these wearable technologies in individuals day to day lives. Look at how it may be beneficial to many people but how it can be disadvantageous to people who do not have access to these technologies or just other people in general.

Myo Wristband - The Myo Wristband is currently being developed by ThalmicLabs and is selling for $199 USD. This Wristband is used to connect with your devices through bluetooth and has a range from PC, Mac products (iMac, iPad, etc), and Tv’s. This wristband is used to control your personal devices with simple hand gestures like pausing videos, opening apps, etc.

Swedish Officers have now created a micro chip for office members/staff to use so that they can enter restricted office areas. These microchips are like security cards but they are implanted into the hand of staff members. These chips are easily reprogrammed so that the office can change what areas of the building certain members have clarification for and what equipment like (printers, doors, etc). This will change the way that office security will work and will affect how individuals connect throughout their office.

Sixth Sense Device - The Sixth Sense Device is a device that is being developed by Pranav Mistry that augments the world around us with digital information. It is a wearable device that allows users to interact with the physical world around them through digital information. It is a
super cool piece of technology that could potentially change the way we interact with the physical world. It’s been in development since 2009 and is slowly coming closer to becoming a consumer grade product.

Skully Motorcycle Helmet - The Skully Motorcycle Helmet is currently being developed by Skully and allows users to see a virtual HUD while riding their motorbikes. The helmet creates a HUD that includes GPS, Fuel levels, Speed, Music playing, phone calls, and more and Skully has essentially put all of the car technology into one helmet. This helmet also comes with a rear view camera that allows riders to see behind them at all times for any dangers that are approaching them from a blind spot. This helmet could change the level of safety for both motorcyclists and drivers in general on the road. Skully is the next step to creating a safer form of traveling on the road.
